Legacy

The legacy of De Meester School began with Mother Marie Louise De Meester, a courageous woman from Belgium who followed a missionary call to South India in 1897. Alongside Sister Marie Ursule, she founded the ICM Congregation (Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary) in Mulagumoodu, Tamil Nadu. In 1998, the ICM Sisters extended this mission to Dhansoi, Bihar, driven by a "double passion"—a passion for God and compassion for His people. Established in the Rajpur block of Buxar, the school was founded to bring social transformation and quality education to the marginalized, evolving into a sanctuary where children are prepared to face the 21st century with a balanced and harmonious spirit.
